The /pub/herp directory contains the raw data and results associated with 
the Historical Earthquake Reanalysis Project (HERP).  The HERP was funded 
by NEHRP Grant 00-HQ-GR-0044.  The sudirectories in /pub/herp are:

ALGORITHMS:  Contains the format conversion program p_test which performs
     syntactical testing of the transcription files and outputs the phase
     and amplitude data in a format used by the location algorithm he_relp.

RELP_CATALOG:  Contains the HERP derived seismicity catalogs.

RELP_SOLUTIONS:  Contains the he_relp determined location and magnitude for
     each viable transcribed event analyzed.  The files generated by p_test
     (which have .af and .pf suffixes) and the solution files generated by
     he_relp (which have .el, .ml and .sl suffixes) are in annual 
     subdirectories (1912-1983).
      

TRANSCRIBED_READING_SHEETS:  Contains flat files of the transcribed
     reading/analysis sheet data for the SFBR event.  The transcription 
     files are in annual subdirectories (1912-1983).  See the
     transcription_format document for details.
