RINEX filenames: The standard RINEX filename convention is: sitedoys.yyt where: site = 4 character site code doy = day of year (000 to 366) s = serial number of file within a day (1, 2, 3, ...) (0 represents concatenated file of ALL data for that day). yy = last 2 digits of year (00 - 99) t = type of file o = observable file n = navigation file. At the NCEDC, we use lower-case letters for all filenames and type. EG the files for station BRIB for day 1994.123 are named: brib1230.94o (observables file) brib1231.94n (navigation file) 2. Ashtech raw data files: The Ashtech format data files have the following filename convention: tsitesyy.doy where t = type of file r = raw file downloaded from the receiver. b = binary observable data. e = ephemeris data. s = site data. site = 4 character site name. s = sequence character (a, b, c, ...). yy = 2 digit year (00 - 99) doy = 3 digit day of year (000 - 366) The "r" file is downloaded from the receiver, and is then demultiplex into the "b", "e", and "s" files. These files are then run through the rinex program which creates the "o" observables and "n" navigation files. At the NCEDC, we use lower-case letters for all filenames and type. EG the Ashtech format files for station BRIB for day 1994.123 are named: rbriba94.123 (raw download file) bbriba94.123 (raw observables file) ebriba94.123 (raw ephemeris file) sbriba94.123 (raw station file) 3. Site description logs The site description logs are located in this directory now conform to the IGS naming convention, eg chab9505.log represents the site log for site CHAB that was last revised in month 05 (May) of 1995. More recently files use the following naming convention: _.log There's a symbolic link from .log to the latest log file for that site. ==============================================================================
