The first draft of the ANSS circular contained more details about the goals, objectives, and requirements of a national seismic system. Although this is a very rough document, it may be helpful in guiding the specifications.

In 1997, a draft document was produced for the CNSS that addressed some of these issues.

On the information distribution front, it is interesting to see what business are doing. LynkUS is an interesting model as customers can sign up to receive different types of information to different wireless devices. In a new application (available in 2001), email sent to an account will be delivered to the wireless device.
